Resumen
The training of electrical engineers requires proficiency in tools such as HOMER Pro, which are essential for the technical and economic design and optimization of hybrid microgrids. A critical educational gap was identified due to the lack of pedagogically structured resources adapted for beginners and available in Spanish, limiting the acquisition of key competencies. This undergraduate thesis aimed to develop didactic videos to facilitate the learning and implementation of this software. To achieve this, a state-of-the-art review was conducted, confirming deficiencies in existing resources, and the functionalities of HOMER Pro were thoroughly analyzed. Based on this, 15 tutorial videos were produced, covering topics from the basic interface to complex case studies. Validation was carried out with 20 electrical engineering students who applied three practical case studies and responded to a satisfaction survey. Ninety percent of the participants reported that the videos were sufficient for understanding the software, and all of them stated that the videos helped them configure system components. Additionally, 95% recommended their use in university courses. Although 70% successfully completed the simulations, difficulties were identified in interpreting output data and costs, prompting a more detailed explanation to reinforce these aspects. These results demonstrate that the didactic videos in Spanish facilitate the learning of HOMER Pro and strengthen the training of engineers capable of designing sustainable energy solutions.
