Resumen
This research aims to analyze what the perspectives of the material users on the effectiveness of supporting material implementation are. This qualitative study considers pre-service teachers enrolled in the basic English courses at the Universidad Distrital in the city of Bogotá (Colombia). The material creation is adapted to the capital’s setting and dynamics so its users feel identified with it. The paper discusses previous literature on material creation, multilevel classes and anxiety levels on EFL classes, the presentation of the instructional design and data analysis process. Among our primary concerns are language teachers and students’ perceptions on how supportive materials might influence the development of the class and students’ learning process. We forecast the implementation of this material will lead to a better performance, understanding and awareness of the English language.
Keywords: supportive material, pre-service teachers, multilevel class, language anxiety, EFL course.
