Resumen
Within the framework of the discussion about coexistence, this research aims to analyze the way in which it is intended to regulate the behavior of students, based on the school manuals of five catholic and private schools in Bogotá (promulgated between 2015 and 2018). Understanding the technical instruments (school manuals), by which human relations have been tempered in the school setting, would imply acknowledging the actual relationship between the search for the regulation of behaviors (school manual) and the mechanisms that have been historically configured for this purpose: the catechisms, the civility manuals, Carreño manual and the school regulations. Therefore, this paper reviews the regulations released by the Ministry of National Education, through the analysis of both, the proposed debates in regards to those regulations, and the identification of the inherent tensions raised by the search of instinctual control of individuals (civilizing process) in the school setting. Finally, the characteristics of the discourses present in the manuals of the catholic schools are unveiled, as well as the civilizational horizons proposed to regulate the social relations in the school.
