Resumen
This work originated from the idea of exploring traditional Colombian music in electric instruments such as the guitar; this search embraced the goal of creating from a soloist format in which the guitar could be capable of overcoming obstacles of percussive accompaniment or instrumental roles, thus achieving an integral approach that incorporates enough elements to give a suitable sonority. It is a proposal that sought to fuse Bambuco and Bullerengue elements with some Jazz and Funk elements. Everything that resulted from this work is the outcome of the analysis of eight musical pieces of the aforementioned Colombian genres which allowed the researcher to gain knowledge of the melodic, harmonic and rhythmic elements of each traditional musical genre. Subsequently, having in mind the obtained results, an unedited composition was made reflected in two works for soloist electric guitar. In order to develop this approach, it was necessary to inquire into some of the techniques used in other instruments such as bass (slap) and acoustic guitar (finger-style) because depending on the requirement of each genre it was necessary to look for alternatives that contributed to the construction of the project. From the use of these extended techniques in the guitar, sound possibilities were obtained which, added to the aforementioned analysis and the emerging compositional ideas, resulted in the creation and interpretation of Aires de Bambuco and Bullegué.
