Resumen
This report is framed within the process of granting Historical Titles in the Department of Boyacá, led by Dirección de Gestión Jurídica de Tierras of Agencia Nacional de Tierras. The main objective was to characterize land allocation processes during the colonial and republican eras, using as primary sources documents extracted and transcribed from the National Archives, corresponding to the indigenous reservations of Chiquinquirá, Ráquira, Tobasía, Sotaquirá, Tinjacá, and Tópaga, complemented by relevant bibliography on the colonial period.
The analysis identified ten processes related to land management that explain the territorial and social dynamics of the time, uncovering a conflict of interests among the Corona Española, encomenderos, colonial officials, mestizos, and indigenous communities. These findings highlight the importance of land formalization in Colombia as a critical step toward the regularization of property.
In conclusion, the allocation of Historical Titles is essential for the formalization of rural properties in Boyacá, contributing to the fulfillment of the objectives established in the Reforma Rural Integral.
