Resumen
The research “Journalistic Discourses of the Armed Conflict in Colombia: Analysis of El Tiempo Newspaper (2022–2023)” examines, from a qualitative and critical discourse perspective, how the narrative frameworks employed by this media outlet shape the mediatic representation of the armed conflict in the country. Through the analysis of news articles published between 2022 and 2023, three dominant frames were identified: security and public order, humanitarian and human rights approach, and post-agreement and reintegration. These frameworks reveal the persistence of a hegemonic narrative focused on state action and confrontation. Grounded in John B. Thompson’s theory of symbolic power and Edwin Cruz’s approaches to post-conflict, the study concludes that Colombian journalism must move toward more inclusive and reflective practices that contribute to historical memory, peace, and deliberative democracy by promoting plural voices and fostering a critical reading of media discourses.
