Resumen
Sustainability in traditional agroecosystems refers to characteristics such as harmony with the environment, political values, participatory democracy, social equity and environmental rationality. For this case study, in the village of Villa Restrepo in the municipality of Ibagué, these concepts of sustainable agriculture and Good Living are not evidenced in a participatory manner and for this reason this population has socioeconomic and environmental problems which generate deficiencies in sustainable character such as the inefficient use of water resources, contamination of the soil component due to hazardous waste (agrochemical containers), open burning to eliminate solid waste affecting the air and soil component, among other shortcomings. For this reason, a sustainability estimation model was formulated under the context of Good Living for 33 traditional agroecosystems of fruit production in the mentioned village; In this way, it was possible to estimate the sustainability of these agroecosystems. A methodology was taken into account for the elaboration of a model for the estimation of sustainability, in which 21 indicators were used; Indices were estimated: Environmental, Economic, Social and General; Thus, it was possible to register that of the 33 agroecosystems studied, 6 presented a High sustainability at a rate of 18.18%, 23 agroecosystems (69.69%) presented a general index of Medium sustainability and 4 agroecosystems that represented 12.12% , showed a low overall sustainability index.
