Resumen
The bocachico fish, Prochilodus magdalenae, is a freshwater species of high commercial demand nationwide and of great importance to the people who live from artisanal fisheries in the Magdalena River basin. The survival of fingerlings in culture is low, which is attributed, among other factors, to the low quality of the water and food. The use in adequate amounts of probiotic microbiota in the culture of fingerlings of different organisms has shown that it improves the survival of the host as well as the use of bioremediators. The growing demand for these fish in the fish farming industry and the implementation of repopulation programs in the main watersheds of the country requires optimizing the production technology of fingerlings of this species, for this reason the research project has as objectives; cousin to study the effectiveness of the probiotic in the survival of the alevinos, second critical period of growth, integrating in its diet four treatments that contain different concentrations of the probiotic potential, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, to later identify the most effective nutritional protocol in the growth and survival of the fingerlings. Finally, we will evaluate the possible bioremediation effect that the probiotic has on water quality. This research project will be carried out in the Ichthyology laboratory of the National University of Colombia.
