Resumen
This thesis proposes an innovative intervention on three original traditional works—a danza, a bambuco, and a pasillo—transforming pieces of traditional Colombian popular music from an innovative perspective, exploring new sonic and structural forms. Drawing on both empirical and academic training, the author seeks to move away from traditional models to propose a critical and creative outlook that responds to the contemporary challenges of art and music, integrating elements of tradition with current aesthetic proposals.
With this motivation, Requintitis is developed, a tripartite fantasy based on three original pieces (a danza, a bambuco, and a pasillo), intervened through resources such as new harmonizations, timbral mixtures, and alternative formal structures. The project proposes an interaction between the Andean tiple-requinto and a symphonic string quintet, with the aim of expanding the interpretative and sonic boundaries of traditional music and paving the way for new possibilities within contemporary Colombian popular music.
