Resumen
In recent years the way in which cities are designed and built has been based fundamentally on the bad habits of exploitation of natural resources, generating very strong environmental impacts in the territory, which has fostered global warming and is generating social and environmental problems. In the face of these problems, it is extremely necessary to rethink the cities (their modes of production and consumption) and to rethink their purpose. It is pertinent to start generating other types of interventions in urban planning taking into account the environment, the reuse of materials, the implementation of renewable energies and the use of natural resources. In this way, the planning, design and construction of cities must be based on a development model where the human being predominates and develops in a local context that adjusts to the needs and customs of the people who inhabit the territories.
