Resumen
The growth of microorganisms is carried out in bioreactors, which since the mid-twentieth century have undergone various changes in order to obtain a greater amount of biomass. Currently research that work on microorganism cultures develop in bioreactors of different types, in essence these have the same principle and functioning. Those that are commercially available allow to control conditions of temperature, pH, inflows and outflows, sterility, as well as measurement of variables such as concentration of carbon dioxide and oxygen, however these are very expensive (from thousands to tens of thousands of dollars), restricting the possibilities of its use for studies. This makes it necessary for the development of biotechnology to have access to economic bioreactors that allow monitoring of the study, which has the adequate systems and characteristics that make it possible to carry out serious investigations without limitations in order to obtain reliable results in acceptable times. Thus, this research proposes the development, design and construction of a BR, which allows its sterilization and is of low cost, to make affordable the study of biomass production and thus its different fields of application.
