Resumen
This research analyzes the relevance of the academic course Production of ScenicPerformances (PEE), a core and mandatory subject within the Dance Art Curricular Project(PCAD) at Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas. The course provides students withessential competencies in cultural management, production, and administration of scenicprojects, which are fundamental for professional training in dance. The study was conducted through interviews and surveys with students and graduates. Althoughnot all participants had directly taken the course —a limitation acknowledged in the researchdesign—, their insights contributed to understanding the role of management and productionwithin the curriculum. On the other hand, the voices of those who did complete PEE offered direct perspectives on the course’s impact and scope. Findings show that PEE plays a key role in the students’ integral education by connecting creative, administrative, and managerial processes with the realities of the dance labor field in Bogotá. Moreover, the course equips graduates with tools for self-management and sustainability, strengthening their ability to insert themselves into a cultural and artistic context in constant transformation.
