Resumen
The municipality of Soacha is located in the department of Cundinamarca in the central part of the country, currently it presents a great industrial growth as part of its Municipal Development Plan 2020-2023; The metallurgical industry is one of the sectors with the greatest progress and growth projection, however, this sector is highly polluting, since atmospheric, liquid and solid waste is generated during its production. Due to the fact that the municipality currently lacks a study that identifies the environmental impacts caused by the metallurgical industry, it is necessary to provide technical support in the identification of potential impacts produced by this sector so that these can later be used in the elaboration of a Study of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) that serves as a guide for the formulation of prevention, mitigation, correction and compensation measures for its environmental impact in the municipality's POMCA. The foregoing was developed by supporting the monitoring and control team of the Secretary of the Environment, Mines and Rural Development of the Municipal Government of Soacha through field work, participation in the inter-institutional working groups of the POMCA 511 project and the consolidation of Secondary information framed in four phases that included the current diagnosis of the sector, the execution of field visits, the analysis of the results obtained and the elaboration and socialization of the final report. As a final product, an updated diagnosis of the metallurgical industry was consolidated, the list of potential impacts due to this activity, the location map of the industries in the municipality, and the update of the industrial census managed by the surveillance and control team.
