dc.description	El Bosque Seco Tropical es una formación vegetal que se encuentra caracterizada por presentar cobertura boscosa de forma continua, que se encuentra distribuida entre los 0 y 1000 metros sobre el nivel del mar, y que cuenta con la característica de presentar temperaturas superiores a los 24 grados centígrados y precipitaciones que se encuentran entre los 700 y 2000 mm anuales (Instituto Alexander Von Humboldt, 1998). Sin embargo, este gran bioma resulta ser uno de los más amenazados de Colombia, en la medida que actualmente el país cuenta con un 8% de relictualidad con respecto al área de distribución original (Pizano & García, 2014), dado a que ha sido el ecosistema predilecto para el desarrollo de los asentamientos humanos, proporcionando una larga historia de uso y transformación, motivo por el cual, el Ministerio del Medio Ambiente lo ha nombrado como estratégico. Es por lo anteriormente expuesto, que resulta fundamental realizar estudios que permitan aumentar el conocimiento sobre este gran bioma en el país, pues la información existente sobre el mismo es mínima y el rápido crecimiento poblacional amenaza con los pocos relictos que quedan. En virtud de lo anteriormente señalado, con el presente trabajo de investigación, se pretende realizar la caracterización florística y estructural de un relicto de Bosque Seco Tropical ubicado en el municipio de Apulo, Cundinamarca, específicamente en la vereda “El Espino”, mediante el muestreo de 0.5 hectáreas, para lo cual se procederá a realizar 5 parcelas con un tamaño de 0.1 hectáreas cada una y de forma rectangular (50 * 20 metros), dentro de las cuales, se registrarán los individuos que tengan DAP mayor o igual a 10 centímetros y a su vez, se realizará un diseño anidado con el fin de realizar el muestreo de las plantas con más de 1,5 metros de altura y menos de 10 centímetros de DAP y de las plantas con alturas menores a los 1,5 metros de altura, las primeras en subparcelas de 55 metros y las segundas en subparcelas de 22 metros. Se espera que este estudio permita fortalecer el conocimiento sobre este gran bioma en la región, específicamente en lo que respecta a la vegetación leñosa, logrando identificar aspectos tan importantes como la caracterización climática, la estructura, la composición florística y la diversidad.	spa
dc.description.abstract	The Tropical Dry Forest is a plant formation that is characterized by presenting continuous forest cover, which is distributed between 0 and 1000 meters above sea level, and which has the characteristic of presenting temperatures above 24 degrees. centigrade and rainfall that is between 700 and 2000 mm annually (Alexander Von Humboldt Institute, 1998).
