Resumen
The ACI 318 committee of the American Concrete Institute has developed the new ACI 318S-19 Structural Concrete Standard, which makes modifications to the previous "ACI-314S Structural Concrete Standard" based on the latest research, which implies modifications in the methodologies used for the design of reinforced concrete structures; In Colombia, the NSR-10 "Reglamento Colombiano de Construcción Sismo Resistente" is used for the design of reinforced concrete structures, which is based on the American standard, which is why a comparative analysis of the provisions proposed by the latest update for the design of buildings with an arcaded structural system is necessary. One of the most used construction methods in Colombia for buildings is the reinforced concrete system with porticos and combined, hence the idea of comparing the methodologies used for its design provided in Title C of NSR-10 with the new provisions of ACI-318S-19, in order to identify the changes in the design methods of the different structural elements (columns, beams and floor slabs) and in the materials used for its development. For this purpose, a building with an arcaded structural system will be pre-dimensioned, with irregularity in plan and height according to an architectural design, of 3 levels, implementing the guidelines of the NSR-10 regulation and the ACI-318S-19 standard; subsequently, a structural model will be developed and modeled with the help of SAP-2000 software, for the verification of drifts seeking to identify and subsequently design the elements looking for how the 690 MPa steel influences the amounts and dimensions of these.
