Resumen
The Bioethanol obtention brings the production of various subproducts, among which is the Fusel oil, which arises from the fermentation process and contains a mixture of alcohols and some organic acids, therefore, this oil could be implemented as raw material for obtaining esters with different industrial applications. However, for the design of equipment that allows the esterification process to be carried out, it is necessary to determine the liquid-vapor equibria (LVE) of the substances obtained at the esterification (acetic acid, isoamyl alcohol and isoamyl acetate).
Therefore, the present work aims to determine the liquid vapor liquid equilibrium (LVE) data of the binary systems of isoamyl acetate - acetic acid; isoamyl alcohol - isoamyl acetate and isoamyl alcohol - acetic acid) using the boling points obtained by a Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) at constant pressure. This differential thermal analysis technique has been implemented in various studies of binary mixtures, because it has advantages over conventional techniques, such as: short operational times and use of small amounts of sample.
For the determination of the boiling points of the proposed binary systems, was used a LABSYS Evo STA (SIMULTANEOUS THERMAL ANALYSIS) 1150 at one pressure of 740 mbar and small amounts of sample (5μL) with samples of the binary systems at different molar fractions ranging from 1 to 0.1, increasing 0.1 from the most volatile component.
