Resumen
Comprehensive solid waste management is an essential component for environmental sustainability and operational efficiency in high-traffic commercial spaces, such as market squares. The Las Flores Market Square, located in the neighborhood of Kennedy in Bogotá, has established itself as a strategic supply point for fresh produce, a fundamental part of local commerce and the city's traditions. However, the increase in waste generation and the need to optimize its management make updating the Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan (PMIRS) essential. This internship focuses on conducting a detailed characterization of the waste generated in the market, designing micro-routing strategies to improve collection, providing awareness to merchants, and establishing strategic alliances for recycling. Through these actions, the aim is to improve waste management efficiency, reduce environmental impact, and promote sustainable practices among stakeholders. A list of supplies needed to improve collection processes throughout the market is available to the market.
