Resumen
The internship conducted at SABANALAC S.A.S. aimed to standardize solid and liquid waste management and disposal processes to improve operational efficiency, ensure regulatory compliance, and strengthen the organization's environmental commitment. Given the growing importance of proper waste management in the food industry, a structured methodology was designed, beginning with a detailed assessment of existing practices, identifying both strengths and opportunities for improvement. Based on this analysis, optimization proposals were formulated, and standardized operating procedures were developed to enable systematic, clear, and replicable waste management. One of the pillars of the process was staff training, which was delivered through training sessions focused on disseminating the new procedures and strengthening the internal environmental culture. These activities sought to ensure the correct application of the proposed guidelines and encourage active employee participation in meeting environmental goals. During project execution, constraints such as staff availability and the company's operational dynamics were faced, however, these were overcome through flexible planning and a participatory strategy. Key achievements include the detailed characterization of the waste generated, improved collection, segregation, and disposal processes, and the strengthening of staff knowledge and commitment to their role in environmental management.
