Resumen
The degree work aims to analyze and simulate the waiting times in line at a supermarket, and the simulation of a proposed automated payment system for a supermarket, which seeks to reduce waiting times in supermarkets when paying for products to improve the customer experience. This proposal makes use of RFID technology, which is a technology applied to short range contactless communication, used in this case to read the information of each product to be paid for, and in addition each product has a "tag" that allows the storage of relevant information of each product, to be read by the RFID receiver. In addition to employing this technology, the proposed complete system includes an automated line in which people place their bags of products on a motorized rail, this carries the products to be read by the RFID sensors, and then a robotic arm conducts the orders of each customer to a conveyor belt where they can be collected. The degree work includes the study and measurement of waiting times that are presented in today's supermarkets, in order to simulate this traditional process and compare it with the proposed system, analyze feasibility, advantages and disadvantages, and possible conclusions.
