Resumen
The development of the internship project focused on carrying out a comprehensive analysis of the means of transportation used to visit the town of La Candelaria in Bogotá, with the objective of understanding its influence and contribution to the experience of Bogotá citizens. The main focus was on studying the areas of influence of each means of transportation and its proximity to local museums. To carry out this analysis, the Voronoi polygon technique was used in a spatial context, generating specific maps for each means of transportation with the geographical limits of the locality. This approach allowed a statistical study to be carried out to identify which means of transportation offered the most options to citizens visiting Candelaria. In addition, the limitations of access to means of transportation were evaluated in relation to the location of the museums, with the purpose of proposing recommendations to improve their connectivity with the public transportation network.
Collecting detailed data on the geographic locations of transportation options in Bogotá was critical to this analysis. A route was generated using the Manhattan distance principle, which is considered more appropriate to reflect travel conditions in a city. This routing was carried out using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) tools, ensuring an accurate and relevant analysis. And finally, an interactive data dashboard was created that combines statistical and geographic information in a visually friendly way. This dashboard not only makes it easier for citizens to view detailed routes from each museum to the nearest transportation options, but also provides relevant entities with easy access to valuable information. This resource can support the formulation of effective public policies related to mobility and access to museums, thus contributing to improving the cultural experience of the Bogotá population. In conclusion, the internship project achieved an exhaustive analysis of trips to museums in La Candelaria, integrating spatial, statistical and data visualization tools. The results and recommendations derived from this analysis have the potential to positively impact transportation planning and the promotion of more efficient and equitable access to the cultural riches that the locality offers.
