Pancreatitis hereditaria: un problema de salud pública desamparado en Colombia

Abstract

This monograph explores the panorama of chronic hereditary pancreatitis (PH) in Colombia, a serious orphan disease with a degenerative preponderance, early development (infants), with a notable decrease in the quality of life of the patient, without effective and difficult treatment. Diagnosis, which represents an important challenge for the health system of the country due to the burden that is exposed in terms of human, social and economic indicators. The interest of demonstrating the disease has been eclipsed by the fact of being of low prevalence and incidence, which is not understood the responsibility of the pharmaceutical companies, public research and much less for public entities, the PH being a disease in the land of no one who has a poor level of execution and representation within public health policies, who does not have comprehensive care models despite being regulated under Law 1392 of 2010. To critically address Chronic Hereditary Pancreatitis an analysis is performed documentary preceded by a compilation and collation of relevant and relevant information from national and international sources, which refers to the construction of an updated conceptual framework coherent with the country's dynamics, the limited information and the epidemiological intervention around of this disease in Colombia.
