Resumen
In the present work, the resources that are available for the energy supply of agricultural biomass corresponding to the department of Putumayo are quantified, establishing in the first instance the participation of each crop within the thirteen municipalities that are part of the department, discriminating each municipality by the type of crop that is planted (banana, traditional corn, cocoa, chontaduro, cassava, rice, sugar cane, pepper, beans and rubber). This process was carried out in 2019, at which time the preparation of this monograph began, consulting databases from the Ministry of Agriculture, DANE, UPME and AgroSavia, because they are the most reliable sources. reliable and up-to-date at the time of collecting the information regarding the planted area, harvested area, production and yield of each crop, said information was tabulated using the Microsoft Excel tool. On the other hand, with the information acquired from each municipality, the crops were divided into 3 large groups: transitory, permanent and annual, in order to establish the participation and importance of each crop. For this reason, it is essential to determine the amount generated in each period. In addition, this information obtained will serve as a complement to calculate the technical and theoretical potential produced in the region. Finally, the foundations are laid for the development and implementation of future projects, which will not only be an alternative energy source, but will also generate employment in the region. Consequently, a starting point is given for the quantification of biomass production and energy potential of the department of Putumayo, from the harvest residues of agricultural products as a basis for future energy applications in the use of this resource. Finally, with the energy potential calculated and using the ArcGIS computational tool, maps were created that show the geographic information to indicate the location and distribution of the energy potential obtained in the department where the most participatory crops are characterized and, finally, a map containing the total energy potential provided by all crops
