Resumen
The main objective of this document is to present the obstacles, opportunities, challenges, fields of transformation and exploitation, and a strategic basis of the structuring and the application, for digital transformation of companies, in such a way that a guide for the business organizations can be structured; a guide that introduces and leads through the process of digital transformation and the most relevant issues to successfully carry out the transformation process based on the knowledge generated by expert authors on the subject. The document is structured in five parts, where each one covers a thematic axis that has been considered essential after the initial literary revision and the suggestions of the directors; It was sought that the topics were strongly related to the companies and the chapters were structured to facilitate the reader's understanding. In essence, companies seek to satisfy the demands of updating and profitability that have entered a cycle of rapid and constant change, driven by the arrival of the fourth industrial revolution and the digital era. The document seeks to answer the most important uncertainties that arise for companies about the what, how, when, why, of digital transformation and adaptation to the digital age. Apart from this essential knowledge, other support knowledge (generated by expert authors) is provided, such as the design of digital work spaces, main areas of transformation, trends, challenges, risks and opportunities that drive digital transformation, as well as future scenarios that may arise. The limited dimension of the document (only for companies) is due to the fact that the applicability of the knowledge about digital transformation varies a lot depending on the context in which it is wanted to develop (public sector, academic institutions, business organizations, etc.) and it is still required more research to achieve a conceptually unified digital transformation discipline.
