Resumen
The video-dance proyect was realized to result of the interrelation found between urban dance and Colombian afro-pacific dance from this historical-cultural contexts and the conceptualization of this movements, realizing a symbolic reconfiguration of the dance forms around the theme of oppression and imposition from a singular perspective of the subject. We capture in an audiovisual format the exploration from our personal experiences in dance; the oppression and imposition emerge as themes derived from slavery and productivity unleashed from the social and cultural construction of the populations that inspired and arranged the dances that we took as an initial reference. The central point of where we took the topics was "the work" seen as a ritual construction, however, and although our video-dance has a great relationship and development with the conceptual themes mentioned above, it can be constituted as a plural perspective and doesn’t specifies in a particular space or time, but as a symbolic vision of oppression and the imposition of society before the subject in different forms and constructions of work. This is how the name "ASFIXIA" is born to the apparent result of not being able to escape from a situation equally supposed to a condition that determines us as subjects in a given society.
