Resumen
At present, the inadequate use of water has become one of the greatest concerns of humanity and a key point in the environmental crisis, both due to the risk of global scarcity, as well as to the increasing deficit of its quality and inequalities in the Access to this vital resource. Therefore, the main objective of this research is to deepen the knowledge of the “social representations of the El Infierno creek that the educational community has built (fifth grade students, primary school teachers of natural basic science and community leader) of the La Joya school, located in the town of Ciudad Bolívar ”. This study is carried out under the hermeneutic-interpretive paradigm, with a qualitative approach, based on the method of grounded theory, applying instruments such as questionnaire, semi-structured interview and Likert scale. From there, it is revealed that the social representation of the “El Infierno creek” that the actors of the educational community have is associated with social problems, where the central nucleus of social representation is “pollution”, with an anthropocentric tendency utilitarian, with a favorable attitudinal projection focused on the conservation of the ravine. This allows generating pedagogical orientations that contribute from the area of natural sciences to linking the school and community in educational processes to find solutions to the environmental problems of the territory.
