Resumen
In this work, the design phase of a mold for the serial manufacture of the locking element of a reclining chair is carried out, which includes the computational modeling of the system from the workpiece and its subsequent analysis using engineering software. The tool verifies through the finite element method the geometry of the part and facilitates the design by identifying the corresponding regions for each face, sharp edges or sharp edges, suitable draft angles and directions, undercuts and other characteristics of the part to be considered for the correct design of the mold. Additionally, the operation of the mechanical system is verified in an analogous way by simulating the injection process in aspects such as the effectiveness in filling, gases trapped in the mold, characterization of the joint line, speeds and uniformity, among others. Finally, with the results obtained in the simulation, the initial design is fed back, thus reducing the possibility of defects in the product during manufacture.
