Resumen
This project was based on the evaluation of the abrasive, erosive and adhesive wear of two materials such as AISI 304 and AISI 420 stainless steels in the supplied state, by means of tests according to the ASTM standards G65, G76, G99, for this purpose called wheel Rubber / sand blasting, gas jet and solid particles, and pin on disk, with machines designed to evaluate these types of specific abrasions such as abrasive, erosive and adhesive, which are called abrasive tribometer, erosive tribometer, and tribometer Pin on disk, respectively. These steels are used in the metalworking, petrochemical, food and medical industries, among others. The abrasive particle used was National Arena silica mesh 20/40, the erosive particle was semi-friable brown cast aluminum oxide TB called emf ELFUSA TBB-120. The steels were evaluated in the 130N and 65N load abrasive wear test. In the erosive erosion test, two impact angles of the erosive particle were evaluated: 90° and 30 °. In the adhesive wear test the evaluated loads were 10N and 5N.
SEM Scanning Electron Microscopy was performed to determine the type and mechanism of wear.
