Resumen
The construction sector plays a determining role not only locally but globally in terms of sustainability, both for its contribution to economic growth and for the effects it causes in terms of energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. For this reason, it becomes necessary to search for other ways that have the purpose of proposing different forms of construction that focus on ecological, sustainable building, with energy efficiency criteria. In addition, at present, a large part of the rural population in Colombia does not have homes that can provide the minimum level to be inhabited, these are inadequate and do not meet basic housing standards. Most of this population is in a state of poverty or extreme poverty and does not have the possibility of acquiring a home that meets their needs and allows them to enjoy an adequate quality of life. In this document, the design of a sustainable home in superadobe was carried out for areas with clay soils in the coffee belt in Colombia; The most appropriate criteria were evaluated in terms of construction, energy efficiency, execution time, availability of materials and costs, taking into account the specialized literature on the use of superadobe, the theory of geodesic domes and Roman arches.
