Resumen
The purpose of this research is to determine the learning paths on Newton’s laws developed by the tenth-grade students at Colegio Virtual Siglo XXI. The present paper is based on the phenomenon of injuries in athletes, in the context of Phenomenon-Based Learning (PBL) with gamification as a teaching strategy.
The action research methodological approach was both interpretive and qualitative, it was carried out by means of a gamified system. For its implementation, the studied population was characterized by identifying the personality of the type of player. The activities were designed considering the dimensions of PBL; the six levels of the gamified system served as a basis for the collection of information.
Subsequently, the information was analyzed by using the following data analysis categories: holistic approach, contextuality, authenticity, strength, Newton's laws, and gamification. The data obtained were interpreted using the MAXQDA® program.
The students who participated in the present study emphasized on the idea that they learned in a different and fun way, also they concluded that the activities motivated them to advance in their learning process. It was determined that in addition to having the theoretical bases corresponding to their grade on the subject of Newton's laws, they achieved explanations from different areas of their daily life learning activities, and found value and usefulness in what they learned, the researcher found a critical way of transforming teaching practices, leaving aside equations as the main focus of the teaching process.
