Sistema de Alquiler de Bicicletas con Cicloparqueaderos Automatizados en Bogotá D.C.

Abstract

The rental bicycle system is presented as a solution to the growing number of people who see the bicycle as an alternative transport mode in the Bogota city, and many times they have not a bicycle. Given that 3.59% trips by bicycle are made in the Usaquen locality (Secretary of Mobility of Bogotá, 2015) it is selected as the target population. To establish the places with the highest user demand, a survey was conducted around the Portal Norte, the results showed that 48% of people go to Chapinero-Centro, furthermore 88% of them said to be interested getting the rental bicycle service. After knowing the possible demand of users, the type of station is determined according to the bicycle storage, the performance of system and the protection of bicycle. In this way the automated underground parking model is chosen which offers a capacity of 204 racks with a fast operation both reception and deliver, and protection against weather. Finally, to know the cost structure, an investment and operation study is carried out, at the same time the economic and financial evaluation is carried out under optimistic, pessimistic and realistic scenarios, concluding that the project is viable.
