Resumen
This thesis is the result of the research work of the Master's Degree in Education in Technology of the Francisco José de Caldas District University, it is developed with the purpose of knowing the type of impact caused by the implementation of a gamification strategy, in the promotion of reading comprehension from the inferential level, knowing the background and theoretical bases on the investigation of a gamification strategy using the components, dynamics and mechanics, emphasizing the theory of motivation as emotional glue; this in order to design contextualized activities or actions for students who have difficulties in reading comprehension in the fifth grade of the Educational Center of Palmira de San Onofre, Sucre. Its pedagogical foundation focuses on the constructivist model, the ADDIE methodology and descriptive sequential mixed design from five stages of development. For the collection of quantitative data, the instrument of the Saber Tests year 2016 is used as a pre and post test and for its analysis the Student's T is applied; for the collection of qualitative data, descriptive observation and in-depth interview, after processing this data is analyzed in the Atlas.ti program. From the discussion and findings, there is evidence of a significant and favorable difference to the use of the gamification strategy "Play and I will tell you" in promoting the inferential level of reading comprehension.
