Resumen
Because of the dependence on petroleum for energy production, and environmental consequences that this entails, the global scientific community has devoted its efforts to find new ways to generate electricity, these have produced a positive impact on the use of renewable energy that in some way are friendlier to the environment. One of these forms of generation with non-conventional energy sources has been the use of the movements present in the ocean. Oceans for its water abundance are sensitive to the movements of the moon with their landforms and level of depth, manifest in their movements two types of mechanical energy; kinetics and centrifuged. Tides are elevation changes of sea water over the coast, these changes are mainly due to the position of the moon and sun relative to the earth, as the coastal zone, on the other hand the waves are consequences of air friction with water, these are presented in all settings where large amounts of water is in contact with air currents. In our country we found lots of places where wave phenomena and marking as the two oceans that abut, many rivers, marshes and some gaps are presented. It is for this reason that following the research raised worldwide, the University Francisco José de Caldas, have advanced studies on different types of alternative energy yielding favorable results for the community in general. Therefore, this project aims to have a clearer vision of harnessing the energy in marine movements, through a comparison of two prototypes based on tidal generation and wave power generation, which will have the scope nearest contribute to the development of alternative energies to the students of the University Francisco José de Caldas.
