The transformation process of the industry is accompanied by the rigor of new technologies where the modernization of processes and their components are part of a generalized search for the change of an era. The plastics industry, like many others, is a sector that seeks to update itself in order to generate a growing demand in its production as well as to opt for more profitable and environmentally friendly procedures. Extrusion is a process by which polymers are treated with the purpose of obtaining a uniform and moldable plastic film that functions as a base to create a number of options for plastic bags and plastic treaties. In this project we will design and implement the automation of a plastic extruder, focusing on the tensioning process due to an evaluation where the extruder 12 of the ALTALENE SAS plant showed a deterioration and little control in its tensioning system, as there were several failures in its proportion to the plastic film. In order to generate an effective solution, it was determined to use a PID device to create a closed loop in the winding between the motor of the winder and the puller as the fundamental axis of the project, taking as a reference the same speed throughout the machine. For this purpose, a connection between the control devices (PID) and the frequency inverters of each motor of the extruder will be implemented. On the other hand, a different configuration will be used in each sector and a closed-loop and automatic solution will be provided in the extruder in its entirety in the tensioning part, which will generate a quality film and little intervention, thus increasing the production of this machine.
