Abstract

This document exposes an inquiry that arises from being a man who exercises professional care to early childhood. It is the result of the reflection developed with three groups of pregnant women and mothers of children from 0 to 3 years linked to the family area program of the District Department of Social Integration in Suba, about their mental and sensitive constructions about masculinity versus exercise. of parenting. A theoretical investigation is carried out on the concepts gender, masculinity, care and representation, in each of these terms dialogues are woven between different authors. In the research, research based on arts is implemented as a methodological path where memories emerge, and evocations of the experiences that these women have built to arrive at their current representations of the masculine, this motivates the creation of plastic works. Then, from the testimonial story, some life histories of the participants are deepened, which allows to establish categories to understand the multiplicity of extant representations.
