Resumen
The project addressed project management for the final abandonment of a hydrocarbon well in Colombia. Its main objective was to design a management plan to optimize resources and comply with government regulations, while minimizing operational, environmental and safety risks. The project included an analysis of the market, demand and supply of well abandonment services, and considered the social, legal and environmental implications. The results showed that a planning, based on the logical framework methodology, allowed the identification of the main actors involved and the associated risks, as well as the analytical structure of the project for its correct execution. Two alternatives for management were presented: implementing an internal structure or contracting an external consultancy. The conclusions show that the implementation of an efficient management plan not only contributed to the reduction of cost overruns, but also improved the company's credibility and competitiveness in the Colombian energy sector. In addition, it was shown that the project has the potential to contribute to the training of new researchers and the strengthening of project management research in Colombia.
