Resumen
A conceptual model was designed to estimate the ecological footprint in smallholdings`s high mountain and an instrument to measure it in 27 Pasquilla’s smallholdings sidewalk Bogota, Cundinamarca – Colombia. The basic information was obtained directly from producers and was supplemented with secondary information published by public and private institutions related to the agricultural sector. In global hectares, the per capita ecological footprint was 1,89 and was disaggregated into 0,67 for the potato crop (Solanum tuberosum), 0,22 for management of Kikuyo’s grass (Penisetum clandestinum), 0,37 for forests lands and 0,38 for electric power consumption. The ecological balance showed a deficit of 0,59 global hectares. The ecological footprint is linked to the prevailing life style and the effects caused by the overexploitation of natural resources of the land and ecosystems of the Paso Colorado’s water basin.
