Resumen
The development of this research occurs in the framework of the Masters in Education of Francisco José de Caldas District University. The objective of this research is to evaluate the personal meanings (specific to the Onto-semiotic Approach) that students express in a learning process built around inverse proportionality, through the application of a sequence of activities designed based on the problem resolution methodology. The research population is made up by fifth grade students between the ages of 11 and 12 who study at Alfonso Jaramillo School, located in the city of Bogotá (Colombia). A qualitative methodology with a descriptive approach was used, through the articulation of some elements taken from three methodological references: GT, STA, and QCA. The instruments used for gathering information are students' portfolios, videos and teacher protocols. On the other hand, systematization and analysis are carried out according to units of analysis that enable the reduction of the information. In this case, practice systems (sampling units) are identified, they describe elements of meaning (context units) and characterize levels of semiotic expression (recording units) to account for the progress made by students. Finally, the conclusions are articulated from three perspectives: the research process, data analysis and a didactic reflection, which is inherent to our work as teachers and researchers in the field of mathematical education.
