Resumen
Currently, the energy demand has been increasing and there has been a decrease in the reserve of traditional energy products, which is why it has been necessary to seek alternative solutions for energy production, which is why renewable energy sources have been generated that are inexhaustible and help to mitigate the effects of climate change since they do not produce greenhouse gases. In the project, the layers of hydro energy potentials for the department of Huila were incorporated into a georeferencing system, placing them for Large Power Plants (GC), Small Hydroelectric Power Plants (PCH) with a maximum power of 20 MW, micro hydroelectric power plants (MCH) with a maximum power of 50 kW and Peak hydroelectric power plants (PiCH) maximum power of 5 kW. After having this information, a project for a small hydroelectric plant was identified and with this it was characterized from the field of civil engineering, generating a budget of the approximate value of the construction of the selected project.
