Resumen
The behavior of the variables SDI (Stand Density Index) and N (Density expressed in trees per hectare) for 14 groups is modeled, based on the data recorded in 560 sampling plots from forest inventories executed in melina plantations during 2017 and 2018, using geostatistics by ordinary Kriging method, for its quality of representing phenomena whose values vary according to the spatial location of sampling points. The procedure is executed in three stages: (1) Exploratory analysis of the data, to determine if data transformation is necessary or not, and if presents trend. (2) Structural analysis for the calculation of the experimental semivariogram and the adjustment to 5 selected models. (3) Predictions for obtaining the “zoning” map. The results obtained have allowed to create surfaces of estimated values for the variables SDI, N and their combination, which their main characteristics show how most of the plantations have an appropriate density for the intervention of thinning operations, but the required SDI of at least 270, it is not the required.
