Resumen
This research analyzes teachers' initial training in distance methodology in Colombia throughout the period 1999-2014 with the aim to investigate its breaks and the way as it is responding to the demands of the current socio-historical moment where information and communication technologies, mediated by the internet, play a determining role; likewise, a pedagogic device is characterized in order to improve the quality of the above mentioned programs. To achieve the previous objectives, this research is framed in Vygotsky’s socio-historical approach whose intention is to analyze the development of higher psychological top processes that cause learning from the internalization of social specific practices. It is a qualitative study which assumes the multiple case study methodology based on the experience of institutions, teachers and students of three universities with wide experience, recognition and national coverage in teachers' initial training in distance methodology in Colombia.
