Resumen
This study aimed to reflect on the way young EFL learners develop critical thinking with comic strips as a medium, in which social-cultural risks in the students’ environment, such as drugs and teen pregnancy can be reflected through their opinion. This paper will look into situations that affect EFL students, and consequently, the necessity of assessing students’ abilities to apply conceptual knowledge to their English activities through communicative skills practicing. The main goal of the inquiry was to demonstrate the matters which involve the children around their common environment in a context as Bogotá, and use interviews, speaking tasks, and writing participation to help students think about social risks that affect them. Furthermore, an EFL class could handle external factors in order to reflect their difficulties outside which are the concerns inside it, and make the comic strip activities to illustrate the thoughts of the participants.
