Resumen
The present work responded to the objective of describing the effect of a didactic proposal that incorporates the use of a video game in the intrinsic motivation manifested by the students of the Seventh grade (7th) to solve problems of additive structure in the whole numbers in the Agricultural Technical Educational Institution of Flor del Monte of the municipality of Ovejas, Sucre, Colombia. The methodological approach selected corresponded to the mixed approach, was developed in the modality of deepening and is part of the line of concurrent transformative design, where qualitative and quantitative data are collected simultaneously; guided by a qualitative design, since it was necessary to understand and deepen on the phenomenon of video games in the learning of mathematics, explored from the perspective of students (Hernández et. al, 2010). As a result, the design of a didactic proposal that incorporates a video game was achieved, aimed at promoting intrinsic motivation in students, for the solution of additive structure problems with integers; it was possible to design the conceptual structure of a video game, exercises that validated the proposal and the effectiveness of the use of the video game to promote intrinsic motivation. As a main conclusion, it can be noted that the use of video play for the teaching and learning of the additive structure with the integers achieves the motivation of the students, favoring the conceptual apprehension and the understanding of the operations that demand knowledge about additive structure.
