Resumen
In order to perform the calculation of the carbon footprint generated in the production processes of the colombo-italian tannery of hides S.A.S., a methodology was implemented on the basis of prior consultation in different sources on climate change, investigating the historical background, related concepts, the importance of the industry of leather in Colombia and national and international standards that regulate the issue; was subsequently collected information in field visits on operational, organizational structure, geographic and physical location; allowing you to make the energy profile, an inventory of activities and emissions that occur in each activity, classifying them in 3 different scopes in the following way: scope 1 (direct emissions) with 43%, range 2 (indirect emissions) with 54% and scope 3 (other indirect emissions) with 3% of the total emissions of the activities taken as a reference. Simultaneously according to the information gathered was made a calculation of emissions generated annually in the year base (20017) for each of the factors determined and defined in the following manner: power recorded in the receipts for CODENSA, result that was compared with a discriminated against power, determining a difference, due to imprecise primary information andunverifiable; Another factor is the amount of fossil fuel (coal generic) used to supply additional energy from two generators; the amount of fuel (ACPM) used by vehicles of the company for travel of purchase of raw materials and the delivery of the finished product, finally the amount of ordinary, dangerous and usable waste produced that they occur to the length of the productive and administrative process. It was determined that for the year 2017 base industry produces a total of 148 tons of CO2 emissions a year, expressed in: 34 tons of CO2 by consumption of electrical energy acquired used in administrative and productive activities; 31 tonnes of CO2 of complementary energy for some machines of productive activity; 6 tons of CO2 by consumption of ACPM fuel used by vehicles for the transport of raw materials and finished products; 19 tonnes CO2 per ordinary waste generated in all of the company; 7 tonnes of CO2 of hazardous waste and 51 tons of CO2 of usable waste produced in the productive area. Thus proposed strategies taking into account the higher contribution factors which allow to mitigate GHG emissions (Greenhouse Gases) that generates the tannery to the atmosphere significantly.
