Resumen
One of the main concerns for project management is to know, in advance, if the projects that are being managed are going to be successful or not. This concern is not random, it is supported by control and monitoring tools defined in project management frameworks and bodies of knowledge. Thus, these methodologies work to minimize deviations from the project plans and consist of identifying and reporting the status of the project, comparing it with the plan, analyzing the deviations and implementing the appropriate corrective actions. In accordance with the above, this review monograph aims to group, collect and study the basic elements of modern techniques and tools that have been developed for the monitoring, follow-up and control of projects in the last 20 years, with the aim of establishing the possibilities of application and its future developments, through the review of the literature.
