This research is focused on designing a proposal for environmental ecological awareness for children in Albania, Santander; this with the aim of integrating awareness in the population, through coordination with the extension program of the municipal library. Given the observation that environmental practices in the municipality are managed in a reactive manner and the notable lack of environmental knowledge among the child population. This study proposes an educational approach that promotes greater awareness and more active participation in the protection and assessment of the natural environment, thus managing to integrate the environmental environment as a determinant in the different municipal dynamics. The methodology used was qualitative, with an inductive approach that allowed a deep exploration of perceptions and current environmental knowledge in the child community. Through interviews and analysis of the environmental situation and existing initiatives, critical data were collected that underscore the urgency of implementing educational practices focused on raising awareness for sustainability. The findings indicate a widespread lack of knowledge about local natural resources, as is the lack of knowledge of local paramo ecosystems and water resource conditions among the population investigated, as well as inadequate identification of solid waste, among others. These results highlight the need for educational actions that not only inform about environmental problems, but also train children to become agents of change in their community. Consequently, the research concludes by underlining the importance of incorporating environmental education in a systematic and continuous way in the curriculum of the children of Albania, Santander. The implementation of workshops in collaboration with the municipal library is proposed to achieve this end. In addition, future studies are suggested to evaluate the impact of these educational interventions and to expand awareness programs to other segments of the youth population.
