Learning a foreign language requires the knowledge of vocabulary to be able to develop communicative skills; however, it has traditionally been taught from isolated ways as lists, which has been proved not to be effective. Most of the studies in the foreign languages field are focused on kids, teenagers, or young adults. That is why this research project is being developed with adults aged between 60 and 70 years old, with the purpose of characterizing their vocabulary acquisition processes, considering the little exploration on this population from linguistics field. This work proposes a different way to learn basic vocabulary from a Learning Object (LO) published on exeLearning that is based on the mnemonic resources pictures and peg word. On the first hand, pictures represent a visual complement to the word and meaning, meanwhile a peg word is a phonetic association of words and numbers from one to ten.
