This monograph deals with the creation of a pedagogical strategy focused on the exploration of the poetic form of haiku as an incentive for creative writing in young people from 13 to 15 years old. This work covers a historical tour of the haiku poetic form, mentioning its origin in the Asian country Japan, its characteristics, theme and those poets who pioneered its emergence. Likewise, an approach of the arrival of this type of poetry to the Spanish language is made, pointing out poets recognized for their exploration and creation of haiku, poets from Spain, Mexico, Argentina and Colombia. In a practical way, a didactic of 6 sessions was created at the Sacred Heart Institute whose general objective was to encourage the creative writing of young ninth graders, detailing the advantages and disadvantages of approaching a poetic form different from the traditional ones in the classroom.
