Abstract

Currently there are repositories and digital libraries that give access to thousands of resources cataloged and organized according to the descriptions of their collections. Most of this large number of resources do not have a scope and/or visibility that allows them to be consulted in their entirety by current conventional search methods, such as textual search engines. Under this premise, this book proposes a series of visual search strategies based on knowledge representation schemes (ontologies and thesauri), through the use of navigational interfaces that allow improving the current conditions of access to the majority of these collections. of digital resources. To do this, user-centered design principles and aspects related to usability will be used, with the purpose of exploring possible ways to display information within a collection of digital resources hosted in a repository, and analyzing their differences in order to reach conclusions that allow you to identify advantages and disadvantages of each of them for their implementation
