Resumen
This Master's Degree Work related to a deepening line, is part of the field of Education Statistics, describes and characterizes the level of Statistical Reasoning on the concept of punctual estimation in tenth graders from (10ºAB) Los Andes school, through the capture-recapture method designed by Peterson (1896), it includes the Design, Management and evaluation of a teaching sequence from an adaptation of the theory of didactic situations by Brousseau (1986) called "The Tota Lake is in danger, let´s help to rescue it" in which a fundamental activity is proposed to determine the number of fish in the lake using simulation and exploratory data Analysis for Development. The research methodology, although it is not attached to a specific paradigm, recognizes the predominant use of qualitative methodology and the use of statistical analysis techniques as the cluster for the determination and analysis verified in the study units denominated "development of student activities and student’s path", it ends with the triangulation of information as a method that allowed the validation of student’s actions during the management sequence activities, by categories and interventions, achieving to verify that the design of the teaching sequence allowed to show the statistical reasoning of tenth graders at Los Andes school, when the concept of punctual estimation is approached from six categories as a result of the units of study (statistical language, student questions, student responses, arguments about the sampling method, on the statistical object and on the decision of the data) which show the process of punctual statistical estimation, becoming a contribution to statistics education for teachers and students due to it is a little addressed statistical subject at school and which would allow students to perform an exploratory data analysis and verify their estimates from unbiasedness, consistency and relative efficiency (sufficiency).
