La Contraloría de Bogotá, is a technical body, with administrative and budgetary autonomy, which is responsible for monitoring the fiscal management of the Capital District; has different dependencies which have the purpose of fulfilling the specific functions of the entity. In the area of environmental management, la Contraloría de Bogotá appoints the administrative and financial subdivision, specifically the team related to the Institutional Plan for Environmental Management (PIGA), to orientate its efforts towards the achievement of its objectives and goals. Prevention of pollution, mitigation and / or correction of negative environmental impacts and strengthening of the positive impacts that are generated in the development of the Entity's daily products and activities. The PIGA sub-directorate has as main product the development of the INSTITUTIONAL PLAN OF ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT, which seeks to solve the identified environmental problems and aims to fulfill the objectives of environmental quality, eco-efficiency and socio-environmental harmony, involving Strategies such as research, environmental education, institutional strengthening, among others. In this way, the entity involves external actors in the participation and support for the development of the programs proposed within the PIGA, it is there where the process established as a proposal of degree, the internships, that refer therefore to a theoretical work -practical within a certified entity and related to the area of knowledge of the curricular project. In this context, the role of the entity is mainly aimed at supporting as technologists in environmental management and public services, in the formulation and implementation of one of the six programs that comprise the PIGA, called "Comprehensive Management Of solid waste ", and also contribute to the formulation of the -PGIRS- Integral Management Plan for Solid Waste in compliance with the Environmental Policy for Waste Management, adopted by Decree 2981 of 2013, the applicable environmental regulations and Its commitment to pollution prevention and good waste management (ordinary, recyclable, hazardous and special).
